Interesting vintage checkered grips identification help please!

Got this pair of grips in a large lot. Really neat pair with the fleur-de-lis checkering pattern, but I am totally stumped as to what they might fit. My best guess is an old Remington revolver? Merwin Hulbert, Webley? Note the frame cutout on the back and the lack of a frame pin hole. Anyone who would care to venture a guess please do, I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks, Ryan

I don't believe those are factory-issue grips, but look similar to some old H&R revolver grips.
