Something is really wrong with me!

I went back up to Sportsman's Warehouse tonight and Bought the Uberti 1858 Remington. Good lord I think I have a condition! The price wasn't bad at all after my military discount. Nice pistol no doubt. I love the things and have never fired not one ball. But the way I see it is if I absolutely hate shooting them (which I don't forsee that happening) I will hang em on the wall.

I do plan to get one of those presses and a few extra cylinders too. The problem with this thing is every time I buy one I see another one I want. THEN when I open the box to the new Uberti, you know whats laying on top? A folded poster containing ALL the Repro's they make........AND I LIKE EM ALL

Yeah...That is pretty much right

I started back into shooting about four years ago after having sold off a previous accumulation to placate my thankfully ex-wife.

My new wife, who had never been exposed to a person with a BP shooting habit asked me (upon the purchase of my tenth revolver) how many pistols I thought I might need. I did not know how to answer the question and I did not know how to explain why I did not know how to answer the question.

I am up to forty shooting revolvers plus three which are on the bench. I still look for specimens I don't have three of. I still look for deals I can't pass up.

And I am subject (as I think we all are) to the "DTAPP" syndrome. Under the DTAPP syndrome if you are looking at a million photos of a given revolver model, (1860 Colt for example) when you see the million and first photo, you still say "Dang, Thats A Purdy Pistol"

At least I will smell pyrodex, I can't find real Black Powder around here and it cost to much to ship, so pyrodex it is, I guess.

And now, you gotta collect the tools, which I just finished doing as of yesterday. But do not even try to explain to a woman, the rationale of why you need tools which exceed the cost of the gun itself, when those same tools can't be used to fix the coffee maker, drippy faucet, or her broken watch band. I found the best answer to be: "Because!"

Got em on Amazon for 10 bucks. They might wear out after one use, but I haven't used them yet. They gotta be worth $10 for 12 files though, even if they ARE disposable.

If you are careful....

....You can get good deals at Harbor Freight.

In some cases they charge higher prices for name brand items. Irwin clamps is a good example. They handle Irwin clamps but you can buy then anywhere for the same price that HF charges.

And admittedly some of their items are low in quality.

But I have several items from HF which are useful quality and very inexpensive.

Also, for the last fifteen years, I have worked out of offices which were difficult to secure and so when I bought tools for those locations, I went to Harbor freight because the tools were inexpensive and the loss would be minimal should they be stolen.
