Reloading for my PX4 Storm 9mm

I'm new to reloading and I am having a bit of a problem with loaded 9mm rounds in my Beretta PX4 Storm Compact. I am sure it may be the grain of powder but with all the data out there I thought you guys may have an idea. My first loads were with AA#5, WSP primers, Sierra 115 gr FMJ, 1X fired brass. Accurate says starting grains at 5.4-6.3 max with a OAL at 1.10". I started at the min. 5.4 grains and the gun won't cycle. Every round stove piped or failed to load. I up'd the grain to 5.6 and still have the same problem. I thought at first, maybe the gun wasn't totally clean but I can fire 300 rnds of factory ammo with no problems. Could it be just the amount of powder and I just have to get closer to the max of 6.3gr? The brand of powder? Any help would be great

My PX4 compact had problems cycling when I ran some really powder-puff rounds through it (the cheap Walmart federal rounds). It ran fine with everything else. I was told that because of the compact's stiffer dual-spring design, it really likes hotter ammo (it also might work better on lighter loads after it is broken in after some time, I am guessing).

Dont the Storm have a heavy recoil sring to handle Nato rnds ? Just a thought ; )

Also, try leaving the slide locked back for a night or two. It should help break in the springs a bit and should make the problems disappear.
