M500 mariner

So I was down at the local bi-mart and something caught my eye that I hadn't seen there before. A mossberg 500 mariner that came with a pistol grip kit too! I am a 12 gauge security pump gun fanatic and I've had my eye on either a mariner or a marine magnum 870 for some time. I like the looks and the anti corrosion benefits alike. Only one thing bothering me, it holds 5+1 in 2 3/4 which is fine by me but I read online somewhere that it only holds 4+1 with 3" shells... That's not cool. Anyone own one of those with capacity specs and an overall opinion? Does it really hold 5+1 in 3" like I am thinking and whoever misinformed me was also misinformed himself? Please let me know!
