Maybe TFLers could buy it. Let's see 6.5 million divided by 13,000... oh, never mind.

Would be a hoot, tho.

Nope. Alamo Village is outside of Bracketville, TX, about 100 miles west of San Antonio.

okay, try this
http://www.homestead.com/thealamovil...moVillage.html

This is very strange; a cut & paste that just goes wrong!
Anyway, search on Google; it'll be the first one.

A friend of mine was an extra in a later, IMAX version of The Alamo. The budget was limited, so he sometimes was a Texian, inside the walls; sometimes he was a Mexican, charging the walls.

He estimated he killed himself, three times. (I spotted one of those events. )

One evening while waiting for the light to be just right for filming, Texians were on the walls and Mexicans were waiting to charge. The usual boredom of waiting set in. Boredom is a Bad Thing for imaginative people.

A Texian hollered, "More taste!" A Mexican responded, "Less filling!" And away it went.

Shame they didn't film that. Miller Brewing would have paid the cost of the whole filming, probably, for the rights to the film for an ad.

There are a lot of Alamo extras around here too (Waco). One story has it that the Duke got irritated at the dude who owned the property at the time. IN addition to the solidly constructed Alamo chapel there were barracks constructed of painted foam and fiberglass. Apparently Wayne thought the guy was excessively greedy and, after filming finished, he brought in a few cases of dynamite and vaporized the less solid buildings.
