Xd 40 locking block question.

I picked up a used XD 40 that was made in 2004. I’ve read recently that there were issues with the locking block cracking on these. How prevalent were these issues and will SA correct them under warranty? I’ve tried the XD forum but haven’t had much luck there. Thanks in advance.

SA will fix under warranty.

The newer style has circular cuts in the back corners of the locking block.

I do not know when the part was upgraded. My XD40 Service was made in, I think, 2006, and has the newer design.

My XD40 subcomact was new in 2013 or 2, and did not. (Subcompact's locking block is different.) That locking block chipped at one point. Springfield replaced the locking block and barrel with what were described on the service ticket as Mod. 2 parts. The whole service experience was straightforward, painless and not drawn out.
