Mel80,
Are you risking your chronograph at 800 or just on a BC? I notice Hornady's 4DOF program based on their Doppler radar measurements of their bullets gives a little bit faster drop in velocity. Code:
Range Velocity 0 2180 100 2031 200 1888 300 1750 400 1619 500 1493 600 1371 700 1252 800 1136

so that chart is based on the given bc and my current altitude of 6,000 ft above sea level seems pretty close though im just using theese cause i bought a few hundred of them for my creedmoor at a good price so i figured why not try them in the grendel, i think i can get theese moving at about 2250-2300 fps , and if thats the case ill switch over to some eld-m's which hornaday gives bc values for 2500fps , 2200 fps and below 1950 fps edit as soon as i get this load worked up ill actually get out and do some testing at range , right now im just chrono and shooting @100 might just have to see how far i can stretch out a 140g bullet this was an attempt at 1250y with a 123g eld-m in 10-17mph winds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p25N4aQVrx4 1150 was no issue on a calm day witht he 123g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33LKATuXx04 Last edited by mel80; April 4, 2020 at 07:23 PM. |

imho the mildot reticle still needs work its a clone i got off amazon , i did stick an oring on the tension adjustment on the bottom to stiffen it up a lil bit but other then that i love it the first one they sent me the qd stud pulled out of the nut , they sent me a whole new bipod free of charge and a new qd lever/stud and nut to fix the first one i bought , and then i bought a 3rd one from the same place the very first one the sent me had a smaller qd lever and stud then the replacement and last one i bought so that first one that broke may have been an old batch , but the replacement parts they sent were the heavier style ones dropping ya a pm |
