New Glass For The AK

I liked the red dot sight on my 9mm carbine so much, I bought one for the AK too. It is a Holosun 403GD. Much easier on my old eyes to shoot now!!

sights

I've played around with upgrading the sights on AK type rifles, the irons give me fits as well. Using a Ultimak rail, I've tried a "See-All" sight, a Leupold scoutscope, as well as a Primary Arms compact red dot. Presently mine wears an Aimpoint 2000, which I got cheap at a pawn shop. I shoot the AK much better with any type of optic.

The rear sight on this one is graduated out to 1000 Meters......other than 25 yards, for me, they are all but useless. With the red dot, I was shooting two inch groups at 75 yards off the bench.

Sounds like a fair trade, but I already have a nice set of drinking glasses.

IMO, red dots and AKs go together like peanut butter and jelly.

I own 6 AKs and every one has a its own red dot (though I do occasionally remove them from the side rails and use the irons).

I was pleasantly surprised with forward mounted optics on AKs. Looks good!

mk70ss: It is very appealing.

Your AK appears to be an imported variety.

I also don't know whether "Rob Ski" has tested your example on AKOU (Youtube).

My old ArmoryUSA AK had a bright orange front sight post and a Krebs rear peep sight. That worked best for me. Scopes on AK's are too far forward (for me) except when I've used the Belarus BP-02 mounts for scopes.
