She loves her S&W Bodyguard 380. Nice and compact. Takes a bit of shooting to adjust to double action only, but once you know what to expect its a peach.

Mrs Schlitz is currently using a SIG 238 that she shoots very well & recently she bought a Kimber Micro 9 that she's shooting every week & will possibly move up to once she's comfortable with her skills with it.I tried to steer her to a bit bigger gun but ultimately she does what she wants & I'm there to support whatever she chooses & keep 'em clean, tuned, & well fed.

Either her SP101 or her PK380.

My wife tried many of my handguns trying to find one that worked for her. Part of her problem is that due to a skin condition that affects her hands, she has very limited grip strength (the skin on her hands is very sensitive, so anything requiring much grip strength is quite painful for her). First she carried my 2" S&W M10 which she could shoot well enough, but it was just too big and heavy. Then she switched to my S&W M36, but the DA trigger was challenging after a cylinder or two full. The only semi-autos she could rack the slide on were full-sized ones like my 1911 (which she enjoys shooting very much) and thus too big for her to carry comfortably. What she finally settled on and is quite happy with is a Beretta Tomcat. The tip-up barrel alleviates the need to rack the slide frequently (she can do it once or twice to reload or clear a malfunction) and the .32 ACP offers manageable recoil in a gun that is small and light enough to carry comfortably. We looked at a S&W Shield EZ .380, but it would've been a bit too big to foster program compliance and she just liked the look and feel of the Beretta better (she's not a fan of the look or feel of polymer). Maybe not the universal solution (I don't think there's any such thing) but it's what works for her.

My wife carries a cast iron fryer. When she commences to raise it, I take it as my cue to take to following her orders.

My wife is a retired LEO, and now she doesn't carry. Go figure?
Now my daughter, on the other hand, carries a Glock .40 on her belt, .12 gauge pump shotgun and S&W M&P AR15 in her squad car. Off-duty the 9mm S&W M&P Shield. Last edited by FunGramps; January 31, 2021 at 11:30 PM. |

Mine mainly carries her Sig p938. She loves it and shoots very well with it. It's small enough to be easily/comfortably concealed, but is heavy enough that it is pleasant to shoot. Sometimes she carries her 9mm shield, and some days she feels froggy and carries her gold cup.

My wife has her CCP, but doesn't carry. She isn't as "into" firearms as I would like, but that is ok. She has no issues with guns or shooting, and is learning through help with my business and I'm hoping to get her more interested in shooting this year. I just need to come up with some ways to get her involved. May do a local "call to help" gathering for ladies to come and shoot and interact and see if that gets her interest elevated.
She has a G17 gen5 that she really likes, but the issue of getting out and shooting just doesn't bubble up to the top of her important list at all.
