Blinded by political correctness

Portland Public Schools Superintendent Carole Smith charges in an open letter that "statements that seek to associate Muslims with the acts of terrorists," is a violation of P.P.S. policy.

Apparently common knowledge isn't common at P.P.S.

Common KNOWLEDGE is common enough. Common STUPIDITY is well nigh freakin' UBIQUITous. The only "infidel" terrorist I can name off-hand is that SCUMBAG, McVeigh. There may be a few others, but PRECIOUS few others.

"Common knowledge" is generally a stereotype about something.

To wit: All lawyers are sleazy weasels, all Mafioso are Italian, All NRA members are beer drinking rednecks, all Chevrolets rust, all Harleys leak oil etc., etc. It's all in the point of view.

So-called common knowledge is a generalization made that is applied to all objects which characterizes them in a certain way, despite the fact that it may not apply to all.

And BTW, don't single out McVeigh as being a terrorist; There was also Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, the Symbionese Liberation Army, the Black Panthers, the Anarchists of the early 20th century, and a whole host of others that I can't recall.

Think about what was said:

Hmmmmm.... By that policy, Islamism had absolutely nothing to do w/ 31 gunshot casualtues in San Bernadino.
It was revealed to be...(gasp)...the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

There none so [eventually terminally] blind as will not see.
But we're getting real good at it.

I see no question about law, civil rights, firearms, or any other topic within the scope of TFL's purpose.

Accordingly, closed.
