Im so excited!!!!!

I woke up this morning and checked my bank account, there was $400.00 missing. A whole FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS, gone out of my account....hmmm o where could of it gone. So i start investigating and double click on the transaction and it says ATF, whooooooaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Why would the ATF take $400.00 out of my checking account? Because i applied for two, yes i said two federal tax stamps. One for my silencerco sparrow, and another for my dark earth silencerco osprey in .45acp. So now the wait is on, I figure three months and I should have my new goodies. I cant wait!!!!! I already have a 10/22 threaded and a .22lr bolt gun threaded. as well as a walther p22. I feel like Santas coming to my house first this christmas. Im gonna put the osprey on my thompson m1 tommy gun, still need to get it threaded though. FYI these will be my first two supressors.

Ok, now for some gun talk.
My question is what was the first thing you did with your first supressor? I know you put them on your gun and shot them, duh. But did you do anything new, anything different, creative? Im just looking for some good ol war stories to help me get some ideas, and pass three months of time. I have a half acre of yard thats surronded by 1100 acres of woodland, so yes i shoot in my yard. I guess the first thing i will be doing is sighting in my .22lr bolt gun. Then the fun begins. Any tips for a newby would be appreciated as well.

Compare it side by side with an unsuppressed firearm to show how well it works even though it is not quiet.

Very cool. I'm picking up a PacLite threaded upper for my Ruger 22/45 and am going to do the paper work and pay for a SS Sparrow as well. My 10/22 is stock right now but I'm gonna do a B&C stock and a threaded barrel but not sure which barrel to go with.

I think them paclit uppers are awesome. My gunsmith threaded my 10/22 stock barrel. Hulley if you haven't bought your sparrow yet I would recommended you check out major-malfuntion.com he gave me a great price. I paid about $100.00 under msrp. Ranb your rite that will be one of the first things ill do. Who knows I might video it and through it on here

I paid for it yesterday! I dont want to say how much but I recieved a great deal. I'm friends with the shop and they took care of me. They did some work on my M&P 9c, got me my PacLite and handled the forms for the SS Sparrow. More importantly these are a great bunch of guys and I trust them completly. I'm hoping to have them build me a Rem 700 in .308.

Ugh, I dont like hearing of the 5 month wait but its getting more common

. I'm tempted to go ahead and purchase a few more stamps even though I dont have anything for them yet.

Dont you have to give them a serial number for the stamps? I did, when i filled out my form 4

The ATF does not just sell the stamps. You must first have a NFA item to transfer into your possession.

I was and still am confused by the original posters comments. How did the ATF take the money out of his account... must have been some kind of electronic transfer or such.... but that still confuses me... because I just sent them a check for $200... even if I had used a debit card or given them my debit card number I still deducted that money from my back account immediately....
doesn't matter what the bank says my balance is... I know what it really is accounting for any outstanding checks or other deductions.

Hope I'm not out of line here... my first visit to this section... been on the firingline for a while... but just 'joined' the NFA group, at least I hope... I'm now one of the 3-6 month wait group... for my first suppressor... an ultima22

They cashed the check. That is how they took money out of his account.
They will cash your check. Money will be taken from your account.
It doesn't matter how well you balance your check book. The ATF does not have that money till the check is cashed and the $200 mysteriously vanishes from your bank accont.

So... It does matter what the bank says your balance is. If your bank says you still have that $200, it means the ATF has not cashed your check and started on your transfer.
