A lamp and some dust. Behind the nightstand is a Mossberg 500 ATP with a 20" barrel and 7 + 1 round capacity.

A Glock 17L with a light attached and a 31 round magazine on the night stand. With a US 30 Cal Carbine with a 30 round magazine and a 12 gauge 500 Mossberg pump loaded with triple 000 buck with a light attached leaning against the wall next to the night stand. And my Big Old Rottweiler Dog sleeping at the foot of my bed, to wake me up if necessary.

I'm not telling, that way, when you break in, you'll be surprised!

Loaded Browning BDA .45 or Colt Agent .38 within reach either place I'm likely to snooze.

My dedicated house/nightstand pistol is a custom Doublestar 1911 with a 300 lumen streamlight and CMC 10rd mag, the ammo is Federal Hi-Shok 230gr JHP. It's wicked accurate and reliable.

Stack of magazines, reading glasses, lamp, clock radio, Dum-Dum Suckers, table cloth so I don't scratch the top and a flashlight. Too bad you didn't ask what is in the top drawer. So I'm not telling.

Springfield 1911; 45 ACP. With Hornady 230gn +P XTP's.

I'm a revolver guy and would actually like it to be my 4" 686. But 357 Mags are way too loud for inside a house.

45's are loud too, of course. But they are much lower pitched (especially with heavy 230gn bullets), and aren't nearly as devastating on the ear drums.
