My first AR build. Detent questions....
I'm going to buy a stripped lower and a build kit and put it together myself. I have a question about the detents though. Seems like every detent had a flat end and a pointy end. Does the flat end always face the spring and the point always face ..whatever?

Thank you, I was pretty sure that's how it worked. But, I was watching a YouTube video on assembly and would have sworn I saw the person on the video install one backwards so...just wanted to make sure.

...Unless both ends are 'pointy'.
Then, it doesn't matter. Watch your eyeballs when you install the pivot pin detent pin. She's a violent one, when released back into the wild.
