What do we have and how to find out its age!
My fiancé grandfather passed away leaving behind 2 shotguns and a hand gun.
The handgun is what I'm worried about as the police took all the firearms from his home where he passed as his business was attached. Handgun is a MAB Officer said its a WAC Model A It is a 6.35 It is 51 mm barrel It's a 6 shot What kind of gun is this? Where was it made and when? Grandfather came from Occupied Holland. Please help. The gun is set to be destroyed. |

Why would the police take and destroy them?

Why destroy
The police took them because my husband's aunt resided in the residence and was afraid with the buisness attached that someone would break in and shoot her w them. I'm from Canada and prohibited hand guns are destroyed here if you cannot prove they are made before 1946

These pistols (the French MAC ""A") were made from the 1920s through the 1960s, so there's a good chance that this one dates from before WW2, but we'd need to know the markings and serial number to know for sure. If it's marked as being imported by WAC (Western Arms Corporation), that would make it a post-war pistol. This is part of the BS that I was hoping the "conservatives" would throw out, but they are happy to lie about things just as much as the "liberals" are in their own political interest.
