Form 1s for SBRs were just legalized in WA!
For those of you who don't pay attention to Washington State gun laws, SBRs were illegal in this state for a few decades. Then in 2014 our governor signed a bill legalizing SBRs.
The bill clearly allowed people to buy SBRs on a Form 4, but it was poorly written and seemed to indicate that it was illegal to make your own SBR on a Form 1. The law was interpreted by the WA State Department of Licensing and the ATF in several different ways over time, but recently they seemed to settle on Form 1s being illegal and Form 2s being iffy; Form 2s were officially approved by the ATF but some folks in the ATF seemed to think there were illegal. But that's all over now. Yesterday the governor signed a bill that clarified the SBR law and made all manners of obtaining an SBR legal: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_8_15/58..._.html&page=21
