High power competition rule question

I compete in service rifle across the course competitions and would like any knowledgeable opinions as to whether or not the blinder shown in the photos is legal. I’m still waiting for an answer from NRA.

The rules state no external alteration is allowed. That shade is one.

Do you have a rule book? They're downloadable from the NRA site.

Put a shade on your shooting glasses, that's legal.

+1 What he said.

Rotate the lens cap 90 degrees, see if that blocks enough. Put scotch tape on half of your glasses lens or a spot that interferes with non aiming eye's vision.

Yep. In general, the rules say a black and white photo of the gun as-employed in the match should not be distinguishable from a military version of the same weapon issued to troops. There are exceptions for selector switches, bayonet lugs, flash hiders, and different magazine lengths.
