GLOCK 26 or S&W 4513 TSW

Guys, I just looked at a GLOCK 26 (9mm for those of you who don't know one Glock from the other) Gen 3 for $499.99 with 2 mags. But, the salesman also had a S&W 4513 TSW .45 ACP for $629.99, but with no extra mags, box or papers. This may seem like a dumb question considering the price and all, but which one would you buy? I like the Glock, being a 9mm (my preferred caliber) and they're so stinkin' awesome right out of the box! But I also wouldn't mind having at least one 45 just for more stopping power, etc. Which one would you go with?

For carry - Glock 26

For Home Defense - SW or other .45acp.

No Glock for me... I like the feel....Of steel...and would rather have 45 over 9 to boot.

I don't care much for the feel of a Glock, so I'd personally go for the S&W myself. One question though, why do you feel the need to put the word "Glock" in all capital letters? Glock is not an abbreviation like SIG, HK, or S&W but rather the last name of the company's founder like Ruger or Colt.

I would tend to agree with Electric Hellfire; G26 for carry and S&W for HD is ideal.

Being primarily a revolver and 1911 shooter I fought with getting used to Glocks for years, finally got accustomed to them and now the G26 is a particular favorite, one of few pistols that does both concealed carry and home defense quite well with the proper setups.

That said, at home the size of the gun doesn't matter so a big bore is a good choice for a pistol.

I shot both, and then purchased the 4513TSW. The early version 4513TSW with the grip cut out.

It was easier to shoot the 4513TSW and get quick accurate follow up shots, for me.

The 4513TSW conceals easily, carries comfortably, and is accurate and reliable. I'm satisfied with my decision. Good luck with your decision! Regards 18DAI.
