How long did it take to get you Curio and Relic License?

Hello and everyone I just mailed off my application for my Curio and Relics license yesterday. How long on average before I get it? As slow as the Federal Government is I will assume six to eight weeks. Although it just took them less than a week to get it to me.

I'd like to know as well. I got my paperwork very quick in the mail and sent it back a day later. I agree, knowing the Federal Government, it might be 2012 before I see mine!

Mine took about 5 weeks, and that was with them sending it back because I had forgotten to mark a box on the application. Actually, dealing with the office that processes C & R license applications is the only reasonable transaction I've had with ANY kind of government office.

I must have hit them during a lull. I got my first one back in 2008 and it took 3 weeks.

I'm not sure I follow, Michael. You're asking how long it will take to receive your C&R yet the very next thing you say is it took a week to get it.

I know I'm probably the one not getting the context of your statement. BTW, it took about 5 weeks to get mine. Just sent mine in for renewal this past June. It's probably sitting on my end table by now. When I get home, I'll be making use of it....

To Michael M: I went online and requested the paperwork/application the last week of August and received it just a couple days later. I mailed my application back that same week. Therefore, I think I am around give or take close to 3 weeks in waiting for a reply. Hopefully I will get it soon. I'm ready to spend $$$ I don't have

It took about a month for me to get it in the mail. This was done in April.

I meant it took me a week to get my application. I was wandering how long before I will get my license from the A.T.F. once I mailed it off.

When I got mine, it took around 3 months. Not sure if being a resident alien had anything to do with that.

OK, now I understand.
Took about 10 days for my app to come in, IIRC....

My license came in a 4 week turn around. A lot faster than I would have ever thought.

3 weeks for mine...
I figured it was going to take longer, and pulled the trigger on a M57 for my son to be shipped to my LGS. Wouldn't ya know, the day the pistol shipped my C&R came in the mail...

Well, I am hopeful that I will get mine in a couple of more weeks then based on how quickly some of you others got yours. Then again? this is the Federal Government we're talking about!

Hmm. How long is it from June 12th until now.............

So, 15 weeks and counting. I called in at about 8 weeks and they said they were still pending on the background check.

I find that hilarious since I can go to the local gun shop and they can run a background check in 2 hours max.

The only thing I can think of is I didn't put my SSN on the application. I read in a few places online that it wasn't "required", however, I'm sure they could ID me much faster had I just given it to them in the first place.

The first time I applied it took less than 2 weeks... it's as fast as I have ever heard of anybody getting theirs.

The first time I renewed it was about 2-3 weeks... not too bad.

I just received my second renewal, and it took going on a couple months. They've definitely slowed down at the FFLC.

How long did it take to get you Curio and Relic License?
Recently got mine in about 4 weeks from the time I dropped the application at the PO to the time I had the C&R in the mailbox. Keep in mind that this is if you have zero questionable items in your life or if you have a very common name or if you didn't put a SSN down. I've heard of people waiting 6 months or more!

BTW, it gets expensive!!!

Took mine about 6 weeks. It would have been closer to 4, except I forgot to include the county in one of the boxes on the form. They sent it back to me for correction. That was about 1 month after the application. 2 Weeks after that, I had my C&R.
