Mystery Pistol

Hi, I'm new here and to be honest, semiauto pistols are not really my collecting interest. However, a friend has this strange pistol in his collection. It's completely unmarked and no one has any idea what it is. Appears to be chambered in .22LR. Looks like it can be top loaded into a tube type magazine below the barrel. The empty case looks like it ejects on the left side with a lever plate that seems to pivot away on firing to open the ejection port. It's all a bit strange really.
I've attached a few pics below. Its probably some kind of home built prototype but I'm wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before. Many thanks in advance.

Tried to fix your pictures, but there's something funky about the picture hosting site so I also included the urls which can be clicked to view pictures in case they aren't showing up properly for some folks.

[Edit by Mal H:
The image problem is caused by Cloudflare checking the browser being used for problems. Many sites use that to ensure that a virus isn't transferred to the hosting site. After viewing one or two of the images using the URL's, the images should all show up after a refresh of the screen.]

It looks like a homebuilt of some sort.

Yep a hand made single shot. Brass frame. Looks like it was for a rimmed cartridge.
