I really like the color. And the grips. And the barrel length. And. . . .

My other 1873 is
...from Uberti. This one was imported by Traditions from Pietta.
I think I am going to chrony the two pistols with the same load and see what happens.

Bet she'll throw that .44 more like a carbine than a revolver.

SWEET, BUT, did you buy that from Jack Nicholson? Looks like the pistol the Joker used to shoot down the bat Plane seriously though nice piece! So you have to remove the cylinder and use a loading stand, right?

I've got the shorter barreled version...and although I've never shot it- it seems ok.
Now, where to get a stock for it?

Coupla replies.
Andy,
As far as a stock is concerned, I have a cat that goes shooting with me. I'll just rest it on his shoulder. Scrounger, First of all, nice to read your handle on the forum. I have that Uberti too and I like it. This is why I want to compare ballistics on the two pistols. 303, Who do you think sold Nicholson his pistol?! But seriously, I load everything with a press. I reduces the stress on the frame or arbor. Hawg, Hey! Quit pickin on me. I am a defenseless old man. Thanks y'all.

Man buys a gun (that's right, a GUN) with a barrel longer than, well, never mind. And then claims to be defenseless.
Never heard of such a thing. |

Congrats on your new baby Doc! It's a nice looking shootin' iron . . . did you buy that for pocket carry? There's one thing about it . . you should shoot some pretty good scores . . . after all, the end of that barrel will be closer to the target than most of your pistols. Enjoy and let us know how she shoots!

Guys....
.... Did I tell you this pistol is NIB?
Hawg and Mykeal, I am surprised at you two. Post a photo of a PISTOL with a barrel longer than nine inches and everyone's mind goes to parade rest.

Guys....
I am really slipping.
First the bad gouge on Deer Creek who appear to be doing splendidly in direct contradiction to my report.....and now this! I initially answered the question about caliber with the response; ".44" Wrong! It is .45 Sorry Vermont.
