XDM 9mm to 40S&W conversion?

Hi All,

I was looking to buy a 40S&W pistol when I came across a screaming deal on this XDM 3.8 9mm semi. Too good to pass... Anyway, I assume I can buy a 40S&W barrel and the right recoil spring to convert it to 40S&W but I'd like to be sure.

Has anyone done this with theirs or know if it can be done safely?

Thanks for your time!

Not 100% sure about XD's, but with other brands you can't convert 9mm to 40 because of the narrower 9mm cut on the breach face. Some brands use smaller diameters of barrels as well on 9mms.
