I guess it was a scam

The mountain pistol and derringer must have been a scam.

I PMed the dude without response.

Two of us responded to his offering (even though it was in the wrong forum.)

Now the thread is gone.

The moderaters should contact these people that post stuff for sale and then don't respond to offers.

No, it wasn't a scam.

The post was removed for other reasons.

And, if they won't respond to you, what makes you think they'll respond to us?

That's absolutely no guarantee that they'll respond.

And, I wish I had half the time during the day to do all the things that I should, or even wanted, to do.

Trying to get in touch with some dim bulb who doesn't care enough to follow TFL's rules of engagement, or even come back to see if someone is interested in what he's selling, it's pretty low on the list.

I suspect that's true of the other mods, as well.

What Mike says. Sometimes I try to contact the seller to remind him of our rules. If I don't get a response, I close or delete the thread. If they can't read the rules and play by the game, they shouldn't sell at TFL at all.

If you want a scam, try this!

I got in touch with a stock dipper, $80 charge to dip my stock, shipped it off to him, and after ONE MONTH i get zero contact, call his number and it either hangs up or i get the machine Im going down the post office tomorrow and see what we can do as i paid with a USPS money order.

Well, Frontier, come on. You shoulda realized it was a scam when the guy advertised "I dip Weatherby Athena Grade stocks in mint condition with a 13-7/8" LOP."
