I wish I could remember the name, but it was a smaller Texas Dept that had just switched to the CZ P-01, and the factory reps went down for the official change over. Sorry, can;t remember the name.
Do you tie the fact the PDs issue a certain sidearm to how good it is? As mentioned, CZ-USA is a VERY small company and new in the fish tank as opposed to giants like Glock, Ruger, Colt and Smith and Wesson, and they are concentrating on the hunting market and personal defense, just getting into the "duty" style sidearms here in the US with the P-07 and new P-09. I am still trying to get my Dept to take a look.
BTW, would you kindly define major?

armoredman, as I said in my initial post

Now that [the fact that I've not been able to learn of any major police department issuing a CZ pistol to their officers] doesn't mean anything necessarily [and I'm a big CZ aficionado]
, I'm not making any inferences, good or bad, as to whether or not major law enforcement departments do or do not issue the CZ pistol to their officers.

The term "major" doesn't have much meaning sans context and will always be subjective in nature. But, for the purpose of this discussion, a "major" police department to me wouldn't have to be as big as the one in New York City but would probably have more officers on the payroll than Mayberry. Maybe, a city of 30,000 or so and larger. As they say, YMMV...

Some companies provide major price incentives to the bean counters - such as ridiculously low prices on new guns and spare parts, or trade in value for old issue weapons.

Glock has been known to use such practices. I would be surprised if S&W and SA have not been forced to follow suit.
