Marlin 336 new lever won't stay
I replaced my Marlin 336's factory standard lever with the factory big loop lever. The big loop lever didn't come with the plunger/spring/pin, so I took them out of the old one. They fit in just fine, but I'm noticing that the new lever doesn't want to stay locked in place easily. Not a huge problem since I'm holding the lever to the stock as you operate it, but just annoying when slung over your shoulder during carry. You barely bump the gun and the lever will pop out. What are the most likely reasons? Plunger too worn and need a new one? Plunger spring not strong enough? Lever too new and need some breaking in? I'm already planning on getting a new plunger, spring and pin from Midwayusa, but just wanted to see if anybody else seen this and had a good fix.
