Quality rem 581 replacement magazines??

Does anyone know where to find some good (factory) quality magazines? I would like a couple more for my rem 581, but the only ones I can find are polymer, not metal. All the reviews on the cheesy plastic 10rd mags say they fall apart almost immediately. If anyone knows a source for better ones, any help would be appreciated.

You might try http://www.outbackgunparts.com/Products.html - they seem to list them.

Please note that I have never done business with these people and am not recommending them. They may be great and they may not. I have the link saved because I was looking for a spare mag for my 541X but never bought one. I use it primarily as a single-shot, for standing practice.

Best of luck finding a mag. The reviews on the one at Midway are dismal, and those purport to be "factory" so who knows.

Also check http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=387850 but note that is for the 541 not 581.

Will 541 magazines work in a 581?

I do not have any direct experience but the word on various forums (fora?) is that 541 and 581 magazines are identical, and the Model 77 magazine will work in the 541/581 but the 41/581 will not work in the Model 77.

As I said, I was looking for a 541X mag a while ago and then kind of lost interest, since I use mine as a single shot.
