45 acp load help???
I am trying to find some load info for some 45 loads. I have some Dardas 185gr SWCBB that I am looking for load info using titegroup. I have quite a bit of that particular powder lying around, so I am gonna give it a shot. I am having trouble finding info on the 185gr so any help would be appreciated. I found some info on hogdons site but it was for JSWC. I am looking for a light paper punching load. Would appreciate any help you guys could offer up. Thanks!

I would use the data for the 200 GR LSWC bullets loaded more towards the max side. That's 4.8 to 5.4 grains.
The 185 GR JSWC data is 5.0 to 5.5, so, theoretically, lead usually gets a wider spread of data, and about the same max, so 4.8 to 5.4 would also fall in line with the JSWC data. I load 4.8 grains TITEGROUP with 200 GR LFP bullets. Call Hodgdon and ask them. |

These guys are using 4.2 GR for the 200 GR bullet, so 4.4 GR would be about right for 185 GR bullet. I might back my LEE powder measure down one size on the disc and see if my groups tighten up. Seems like the lower end charges are working pretty well. |

Hodgdon's www load data center covers a 180 gr flatpoint with rather light loads because it is seated deeply. They have plenty of data for a 200 gr SWC.
I would load that 185 gr SWC somewhere in the range of those cast bullets, maybe 4.5 gr TG. Sorry, I do not have my chronographed data available to furnish you a recipe. |

my bigest question would really be what to seat them at? I can test the powder weight out pretty easy, but am stumpped where to seat them at.

1.25" is usually a workable OAL for most bullets in .45 ACP. For SWCs, you want "some" of the cylindrical bullet shoulder exposed at the case mouth, but not so much that it hits the rifling before the round is fully chambered.
