Gewehr 43 Ideas Anyone?

I'm in California, but I dont mind shipping here, anyone know where I could pick up, or find a G-43 or K-43? I have 4 K98's and I think I'm ready to take my relationship with Germans arms to the next level

Any ideas?

Look on Gunbroker.com. Bring money. Last G.43 I saw for sale was sporting a price tag north of five thousand dollars, and it didn't even have an optic.

I was at a gun show about 2 weeks ago, there was one there for $750, I didnt take enough with me because it was just a small time show, and I didnt think anything like that would be there...I was wrong

...but I was talking to the guy that had it there and he said that G-43's are coming out of the wood work left and right, because WWII vets are unfortunalty passing away faster and faster, and as they do, their trophies and treasures are becoming more available. Long story short, he said he thinks within the next 5-10 years that alot of the now 'Not so easy to find guns' i.e. MP-40, SGT-44, G-41, and G-43 are going to start popping up everywhere, along with more K98s,P-08 Lugers, and Walther p-38s

The auto weapons get tricky. A lot of vets never registered their souvenir guns, or they had them deactivated prior to 1968 and then never registered them in the amnesty. The heirs have no idea that the guns are illegal or that they can't just sell them. Unfortunately, finding an unregistered souvenir MP.40 in the attic is no different legally than finding that kilo of cocaine Gramps forgot about.

The only thing an heir or executor can do legally with an unregistered MG is to contact BATFE or the police, preferably through an attorney, and arrange to abandon (surrender) the gun. BATFE can, however, tell the party involved whether the gun is registered; if so, it can be legally transferred to the heirs.

I haven't seen a G43 for $750.00 in 15 years. That would have been a steal even with mismatched numbers.

I have a chance to buy a G43 from a WWII vet. He also brought back 3 lugers, a few p 38s, nazi marked astra's, a hi power, ppk, etc and is interested in selling it all. Basically you just have to be lucky; at the right place at the right time. He hasn't said what he wants but since basically he is the original owner other than the dead nazi from Europe, I think he will be reasonable. The key to finding any gun or any deal is to have the will to look (and keep looking) in the first place and the dedication to leave no stone unturned; at least thats what I try to do.

I thought the G43 was semi auto only? Was there select fire variants? I realize you mention the MP40 specifically, but I would think the G43 to be exempt unless some are full auto?
