Mossberg 500 trigger group worries

I've posted this on another forum and got mixed replies. I'm interested to hear what you guys have to say about my situation (if you can even call it a situation)

Last night I brought home my new Mossberg 500, 18.5" persuader. I broke it down to clean and oil it, and my girlfriend picked up the trigger group and fired it. I didn't notice any cracks in the housing, but I'm just worried some damage may have been done to the springs. I'm not sure if this is anything to worry about, I just know that it's something you're not supposed to do. Any Mossberg buffs out there know if I should be concerned about this?

If you don't see any cracks and the trigger group still works correctly, there is nothing to worry about.

That won't hurt the springs. It could break the housing. If you do't see cracks it should be fine. Don't do it again.

I wouldn't worry about it, but I also wouldn't do it again. I've done it to mine and its really not a problem if you just do it once.

If these things were that tender they wouldn't have sold over ten million of them.

Yeah, I'm not worried about it anymore. I was just more or less burned by the fact that I had only had it out of the box for less than 15 mins. Thanks for all the input though, it's a relief to hear it's NBD.
