Ouch!
From my 50th Anniversary Sierra Edition - on a 180 grain load, you start out at 10.1 and max out at 11.5.
With the loads mentioned from the Hornady manual - all I can say is "OUCH!" My standard .357 load that has shot consistantly well in all the mags I've owned is 15 grains of 2400 pushing a 158 grain (or in the old days 160 grain) JSP's. That's enough to flatten the primers a bit - throw enough fire to scare off the blackbirds and beat up my old shoulders enough! And in my daughter's 2" Taurus - that's almost more than I can handle well. I can't imagine ramping it up. And, I use magnum pistol primers to better burn all of that 2400. God bless! Margiesex And remember: Hug your God and your guns - 'cause he's coming for them both and sooner than we think! |
