Recoil pad for Ithaca 37 featherlight 20 gauge?
Bought the Ithaca 37 today , and now for the 10 day waiting period.
Brother loves the way it handles but still thinks the recoil will be scary so he'd prefer a rubber recoil pad instead of a metal butt plate. So what recoil pad do you guys recommend for this gun? Since I have to install it for him, I'd prefer something that requires minimal fitting. Thanks in advance |

I've installed several recoil pads on some of my rifles and shotguns over the years. My personal favorite is the Pachmayr Decelerator. The pads I used required 1) shortening the stock to fit me properly with pad added, and 2) fitting/shaping/sanding the pad to merge with the contours of the stock. Care is required to avoid dinging the stock when filing/sanding on the recoil pad.
