CNN - All Gun Control All the Time
I've never seen anything like this.... every show is about gun control. All 100% slanted in favor of gun control. I'd have figured this would have slowed down by now, but it appears to be the opposite. They are intensifying there efforts. I use the term efforts because it is clear that there is an agenda a play.
I'm don't think this is in pursuit of ratings (though I admit, I'm watching it while I normally don't- I am a strong believer in paying attention to what people I disagree with are saying about issues a care about). It could be a peeve of upper management, but it is a lot into a personal item. Then again, it could be in support of the administration. Perhaps all 3. Whatever it is, I don't like it. |

During the 1st AWB runup CNN ran video of a police officer firing an M-16 full-auto for about a magazine's worth.
Meanwhile the voiceover was about banning Assault Weapons. This kind of campaigning with disinformation is not new for CNN. About that time I found out a very good friend of mine worked there. We haven't spoken since. |

I also noticed CNN today started to hammer handguns. They are starting to push for a ban on those as well. They are just getting started. Scary times ahead.

I deleted silly stuff. GEM
CNN obviously decided that issue has traction with its viewers. Free market - isn't it. Thus I don't watch it if they go gun hating. It is depressing that the major media have decided apriori that gun ownership is a bad thing. My wife has instructed me that I cannot rant about Piers Morgan anymore.

CNN continues to lose viewers, they no longer have the impact they think they do. Guess they think anti gun all the time is the way to go.

CNN is blatantly bias. Nothing more than partisan hacks promoting a far left agenda.
My suggestion would be to watch Fox news. If you can get Fox business, be sure to watch Lou Dobbs. He is on top of all gun issues, he was one who has reported fast & furious continuously when main stream media ignored it. |

I was glued to CNN during the first assault of Gulf War 1 when the 117's did their business.
Haven't watched it since. |

CNN has been a joke for a long time, I watched it for about 5 minutes here awhile back just to see if they were still socialist lunatics... yep, still are. I simply can't stomach watching a news broadcast that holds 180° view of the world than I do. No doubt a lot of people feel the same which is probably why their viewership and influence have fallen in the last few years.

What bothers me the most is the disinformation from so called news outlets like CNN and the politicians pushing for Feinstein's new bill. If they want to ban all semi-automatic rifles and pistols, why not come out and honestly say that is your intended goal? Why falsely portray a semi-automatic rifle, as little different than a 50 caliber machine gun? We know the answer to those questions. They know that banning all civilian firearm ownership can never happen in America, all at one time. But once semi-auto rifles are banned, it will be that much easier to go after semi-auto pistols next.
It is up to each and every one of us to explain and educate our family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances, what an AR 15 is and what it is not. It is also important to point out to them how very rarely these semi-automatic rifles are used in crimes. I'm trying to channel my anger and frustration constructively. It's going to be a long fight. |

And, it's not just CNN. I was watching First Business News, and they railed off a pole where they claim over 50% of Americans want to ban semi-automatics and over 80% want to ban Assault Weapons. I didn't catch the name of the poll, they said it so fast. All B.S. all the time.

I never, ever watch CNN, PMSNBC, etc. I do often briefly drop by their websites just to confirm how they either spin or omit entirely important stories of the day revealed by Fox News or other non left wing hack sites.

I dont care for the major news outlets myself, since I personally feel that each one has their own slant, as well as their own agenda they are trying to push...As far as news I generally scan the major networks, as well as some international ones, and then form my own viewpoint... CNN itself, in my opinion, is kind of like Pravda. Putting forward their Administrations views usually. Quote:

I sent him a load of pro-gun books (including Unintended Consequences). And that was that. Don't be surprised if gun control/confiscation turns into a brother-against-brother battle for you too someday. |

I have in-laws who cannot understand why anyone would want to own a gun..... Let alone more than one.
City folks vs. country folks. I was raised with guns in a small rural town, they're from a larger urban area and were never near a gun. Fortunately my wife encourages my hobby and frequently tells me i need to go shooting. |

As far as the news is concerned, While still super liberal, I haven't seen CNN talk nearly as much or as strongly about gun control as MSNBC. Every time I flip through the national news channels just to see what's going on it seems MSNBC is either saying that the republican party is falling apart (~60-70% of the time) and Pro Gun Control Dribble the other 30-40%. CNN on the other hand has only had gun control (although obviously for it) discussions about 15-20% of the times I've turned it on. Maybe it's just timing on my part though.
As far as friends, Most of mine are either pro 2A/guns or more of a "you do what you want as long as you don't bring your guns to my house" type attitude. I do have a few that are either anti-2A in general or want an AWB or magazine limits etc. I just try to keep conversations on topics that are amicable to both of us. I tried a little to change their minds on irrational fears of guns or certain types of guns, but it didn't take and our friendships are more important to me than trying to convince someone who doesn't want to be. |

Ronbert. I approve of your decision. Although it is rash, people need to understand that there are STILL people in this country that have black and white values that they will not compromise on. Now, I'm not saying un-friend those who disagree with you. I am saying stand up for what you believe in, and if your friend is okay with LYING to the public to advance a cause, then he is not a friend. A true and honest friend is consistent with their believes and values across all forms of life.
