Shiloh Sharps or C.Sharps - Page 2

I own three rifles from C-Sharps, 1 1875 in 40-65 and 2 1874s in 45-70 very happy with all three. The 75 I bought used and the other 2 I waited over 4 yrs to get. Worth the wait.
I have shot in the Creedmore at Raton some, thats 800-900& 1000 yds, one of those yrs I shot the over all winner shot a C- Sharps high wall in 45-70.
What ever you decide by American. I shoot often and have tried the others.

Hi folks, I've now had my Shilohs for 27 years and have had much enjoyment shooting & fondling them. For the past few years I've been contemplating getting a Hi Grade Model 1874 ( USA made ONLY. ) before I'm ready for the last ride. I have been aware of the feud going on regarding the two custom builders, and the opinions I've read about them. I must say this 2 year long thread and opinions, pictures etc. allowed me to contact C. Sharps Arms with no qualms at all and order a Custom Boss Gun, with #2 Engraving, fancy wood, checkering, etc. Well, it arrived 2 weeks before Christmas, and, I must say, the workmanship, attention to detail, service, leave nothing to be desired. I, and others who have seen this rifle have been overwhelmed with its beauty. Thanks for the honest opinions, and thank you C. Sharps Arms.
Also I must thank Steve Baldwin for the superb quality sights these rifles are now equipped with, allowing these old eyes a few more years (hopefully) of enjoyment.

I have a Pedersoli "QUIGLEY" in 45-90 . the workmanship , fit, wood,finish is all beautifull. Even the fit of the patch box is perfect. Though not cheap it a great gun.

I own three C. Sharps rifles. An 1875 Sporting Rifle in .38-55 I bought used. I added the fully adjustable long range sights. An 1885 Hi-Wall in .32-40. I ordered this with all of the bells and whistles including Extra Fancy wood. The third is thge 1874 Boss Gun Grade I in .45-90. Again, ordered everything with this rifle. All three are fantastic shooters, not to mention lookers. Contemplating ordering an 1885 High-Wall in .22 L.R. for indoor silhouettes.
I could not be happier with my choices.

Pukindog, That Boss Gun is gorgeous. I'm contemplating an 1875 Classic in 45/90, with a few whistles. I had a sweetheart of an 1886 Winchester in 45/90 a long time ago, traded it off for a M71 Winchester and have always regretted it. That was about 40 years ago, and am still regretting it!
I'm totally pleased with my "Boss Gun". As I mentioned before, my 1874s have Steve Baldwin sights installed on them, also my 1863 Shiloh, C. Sharps sights are great, but I'm used to Steve Baldwin's sights. Sorry for being so long winded. Take care.

I have owned quite a few C Sharps and Shiloh Sharps through the years and never really saw much difference in the accuracy department. I still have one 1874 C Sharps in 45-90 and one Shiloh 1874 in 45-70. If I had to only chose one I really don't know which one I would take. I love them both!
