Do elections have any influence on ammo prices?

Will ammo get more expensive since the president will be re-elected? I'm not trying to troll, but I just got into firearms and just bought my first one, so I don't know how elections influence ammo prices.

Thanks!

in the short term...yes. Gun companies love when when democrats win. After the hysteria, free markets take over and prices fall.

Four years ago... Cheaper Then Dirt will have Pmag's on sale for 59.99 each.

I'm hoping that ending the conflicts in the middle east will bring surplus ammo back.

The ongoing devaluation of the dollar will have a larger effect.

They can, but don't necessarily.

I haven't seen the indications of an impending leap in price, yet, from this one. I think that is largely because 2008 proved so anti-climactic.

Even so, I did just order 10 Magpul 30rd mags for my AR.

Anything can affect ammo prices. Gun owners are, taken as a whole, a fairly excitable bunch.

However, it's not super reasonable to expect a RE-election to make a huge difference since, by definition that's not a change, it's the opposite of a change.

This isn't really specifically semi-auto handgun topic, and since I think we'll get enough threads like this, I'm going to close it rather than move it.
