Need A Good Rifle Suggestion
My original intent was to get a Mossberg Tactical .22 (715T), but I don't really want to buy a gun online and the local Walmart just sold the last one. I have a few requirements:
1) I want the tactical rails for light, laser, etc. 2) Caliber: .22 or .223 (might be open to other suggestions) 3) collapsible stock. 4) Under $800 If anybody has any good suggestions, they would be much appreciated. As close to the AR style as possible please.

DPMS sportical or low pro are both under 800 locally here. I'd call around to your local gun shops and pawn shops.

You want lots of rails and a collapsible stock, but don't care about caliber very much? If you want a conversation piece or something to show off, that's all well and good, I guess. Otherwise, you might want to narrow your criteria a bit more.
What do you want to use the rifle for? |

M&P-15 sport if you want an AR-15. I can't speak on behalf of the mossberg .22 you mentioned though. If you want a .22 ar pattern rifle I'd recommend the M&P-15-22.

If you want a .22 you might consider the Ruger 10/22 Takedown with, and add a couple of bx-25 25 round magazines. It's just as compact as any tactical rifle and you can also accessorize it pretty well. I get smoother and more accurate with mine every time I shoot it.

For the requirements you stated, the M&P15-22 (22lr) and M&P Sport (.223) should fit the bill.
The M&P15-22 already comes with a quadrail and is priced well under $500; plenty of money left for thousands of rounds if you choose to go that route. I personally suggest the M&P Sport instead as it is a 5.56/.223 caliber. Ammo is still rather affordable and widely available, can be used for multiple purposes like HD/SD, plinking, hunting, and competition. |

World of difference between a .22LR and a .223...
Do you want a "tactical looking" .22LR for plinking, or a .223 for SD? |

OK , here you go
Ruger 10/22 $280 http://www.ruger.com/products/1022/index.html ATI strike force stock $80 http://www.amazon.com/ATI-Ruger-Stri...I38DKLS2L26W1Q Done deal $360 out the door . This is what you want if you just want a really cool looking gun . It will be very reliable and cheep to shoot . Or you can have the real deal Lower receiver $50 http://palmettostatearmory.com/index...-receiver.html Lower parts kit $80 http://palmettostatearmory.com/index...kit-10346.html Complete upper $370 (You can attach rails to the MOE hand gaurd ) http://palmettostatearmory.com/index...ng-handle.html BCG ( Bolt carrier group ) & charging handle $130 http://www.del-ton.com/AR_15_Bolt_an...y_p/bc1044.htm http://palmettostatearmory.com/index...ndle-6182.html Done deal again . $630 out the door . And this is what you should get .......This will be very reliable and 10 times more expensive to shoot then the 10/22 I am of the thought that you should get the gun for the job .So think about what you want it for and buy accordingly and there is nothing wrong with just wanting a very cool looking gun .
