The 357Sig is a neck down cartridge, means extra work to reload. 40 S&W is a cut down 10mm, so if I wanted a hot 40 cal round I’ld go with the 10mm. If I wanted a gun designed for putting holes in paper I’ld use 40 S&W or use 40S&W loads in 10mm. if I want a gun to carry its 9mm.
just my opinion Joe

.357 Sig vs 9MM
I will take the 9MM over the .357Sig every day. Hard to find practice or Social Ammo for the .357Sig, and it is hard as hell to reload. I reload 9MM and 40 Short and Weak. I will take .40 S&W over .357 Sig all day long. My brother is looking for a .40 S&W barrel for his Sig Made .357Sig.

The bottleneck design makes it incredibly feed reliable. One LE agency fired 180, 000 rds. in a recruit academy with their P226's without any malfunctions what so ever. Not the gun or ammo. They had the market for it before it was developed, not the other way around. No round commonly used by LE is as good at penetrating certain barriers, as in car bodies and windshields, as the .357 Sig. |
