I'm no expert but I'd guess that should be near on impossible with a typical bullet. You need soft lead, pure lead or darn near, to be able to ram it down the barrel by non-explosive means.

You take a lead fishing sinker that is a little bigger than the bore size. They are pure lead. just carefully hammer them down the bore(oil the bore up good first)with a dowel or aluminum rod. A harder bullet won't work ,especially if they are small to begin with.

Or what I did.

I made some molds that I drilled holes .006-.010 over each caliber I shoot. with 2 plates bolted together, I drilled the holes on the parting line between the two. pore molten pure lead in the holes, after they cool, unbolt the plates, I have some slugs.

Aside from the leading...anything to stop me from using them? About 900 left....
9mm is only caliber I load for thus far

No go ahead and shoot them. And you must be talking about the chamber not the barrel. If the bullets freely make it down into barrel they are clearing the lands and are waaaaaay undersized. You might as well wrap them in a patch and pretend your Beretta is a musket

Most likely, I did use calipers to check barrel - looked to be .354 or thereabouts. I'll do another Hoppe's bath and see if maybe I just didn't do a very good job cleaning the copper out.

Packing for a weekend trip, so I haven't had time to do...well...anything, including slug the barrel, re-clean the barrel, or try it out

Just try some .357 size boolits and watch your problem disappear.

You have enough junk boolits left to justify a mould. Melt them suckers down and recast them.

Well, this isn't that old, so thought I'd dig it up rather than repost.

I made and tested an extended run (150) of the loading that I had found very accurate - 125 gr LRN over 4.5 Bullseye, OAL 1.13 (based on Alliant manual)

Leading, to say the least, was awful....though accuracy never really dropped off much.

But upon looking through a friends Speer manual, I suspect I may have been pushing them entirely too fast.

Speer recommended starting at 3.5 with a max of 3.9. Granted, it is for Speer 125 gr LRN but would the data be transferable?

You are fine on your loading of that round. Max should be around 5 grains at just over 32,000 psi which is still shy of a true max load for 9mm. Slug your barrel and get a bullet that fits and of proper bhn hardness. Im assuming your bullets are undersized and too hard try a bhn of 12 with the correct diameter in your gun id say 357 or 358 and see what happens.

I'd be willing to cast you up 100 or more for just the cost of shipping of some that I shoot out of my Berettas, sized .358, 130gr FP or 140gr FP. Sorry no round nose molds. Let me know

You can cast a barrel using a commercial lead bullet I just did it for my 9mm using some 100g .356 just smack it on the head a time or two with a hammer to get it to expand first. make sure the rod stays centered when you start it after it’s in the rifling put a patch on the rod to help keep it centered and away from the barrel I used a brass rod to push it
You should also oil the barrel first and put some case lube on the bullet
To be honest I don’t know if I would have done it that way without the little 380 bullets
I tried a lead sinker for a tokerav didn’t work too good so melted one in a 32 case looked like more dross than lead so used some 00 buck that worked fine (I probably just got a weird batch of sinkers though)
