Weatherby Vanguard Stainless with KDF Muzzle Brake

Saw one at a pawnshop.

.300 Winchester Magnum. Zeiss 3x9 scope (I think it's made in America.)

KDF muzzle brake. Polymer stock.

$1200.

I dunno that much about Weatherby rifles. Are they good? Accuate? Is that a fair price?

Looking for a real long range rifle.

Thanks,

Deaf

I own 2 weatherby vanguards, a S1 in 22-250 and a S2 in 243, Both will shoot 1 ragged hole 3 shot groups @ 200 yds if I do my part. If you go on Buds gun shop website and search for the rifle you are looking at you will get a good idea if the asking price is fair. You can also google the scope and see what its worth. Hope this helps.

It really depends on the model of Zeiss Scope as there is a wide range of prices from say $300-$400 for a 3-9x Terra.

On Bud's site, the stainless Vanguard runs a tad over $600.

If you could buy it for maybe $900-$1000 would be fair minus a little for being used.

You don't know how much the previous owner shot it. Sometimes a 300 Win Mag can shoot the barrel out in 1200 rounds.

It would be nice if you could run a bore scope thru it before purchasing.

If it were me, I would buy a new rifle and get a good scope on it and you would be ahead of the game at $1200. For long range shooting, something in the line of 24x would be good.

I like Weatherby rifles and have 3 of them in the mix.

Used WBY Vanguard in 300WM is worth $300-350. The muzzle threading costs in the $100-150 range. You figure what the scope and muzzle device are worth and then decide.
I'll say a good MB is worthwhile on a Vanguard 300WM.

Both the Vanguard and Vanguard Series 2 have an excellent reputation for being accurate.

Unless it is brand new I think that price is high. That also depend on what Zeiss is mounted on it.
