Bullet molds

I have access to a bunch of lead. I have yet to find a bullet mold for a .40 s&w.Does anyone know where to get one? I don't have a press but I'm getting prepared to get one. Thanks, FullCry

Your going to need a harder lead then pure lead. You'll need to find some wheel weights or other alloy to bring the hardness up. Check out the casting section here or visit Cast Boolits for more information.

I use straight wheel weights for most of all my bullets. I have added a little tin at times if the molds weren't filling out right.

I use the wheel weights too, but I also quench the bullets in a bucket of water with a towel in the bottom. What do you plan to shoot these out of?

First, what do you mean quench, second do you have to put any chemical in the lead when you heat it up and third i'm going to shoot them in a 40cal semi auto and a 44mag revolver and possibly a 38 special. Thanks, FullCry

By quench I mean I drop the cast bullets in a bucket of water when I release them from the mold. I place a towel in the bottom of the bucket to keep the bullets froms striking one another to prevent and dents and so on. Wuenching a cast bullet allows the bullet to cool faster and creates a harder bullet.
