Stock for Remington model 700
I am looking to replace my factory stock on my Remington Model 700 SPS varmit .308 caliber. I want a synthetic black or OD green stock. Any suggestions on brand and model?

What style? i.e. what type shooting? Bench? Prone? Backpacking?
McMillan ($ and wait) makes multiple styles, Manners ($ and less wait) makes multiple styles, or Bell & Carlson (less $ and no wait). I chose Manners MCS-T for my build. |

The Choate ultimate sniper is 4.5 pounds before Lead is put in the handle.
http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=4..._VARMINT_STOCK The HIGH TECH SPECIALTIES are very light ~ 20 ounces http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=6...IC_RIFLE_STOCK Most other stocks are in between in weight. |

J Allen Enterprises makes a nice stock for the R700. The Accuracy international is nice too. -tINY |

They are OK. They were one of the first of the aluminum chasis stocks, but haven't done anything noteworthy lately (except hire questionable spokespeople...). -tINY |

I have about 400 bucks to spend and I am trying to find a good stock in that price range.

I bought a Bell & Carlson Medalist A3 for my SPS and it really helped in the accuracy department. I ordered the olive/ black web from Stocky's Stocks on a Fri. and it arrived the following Tues. It cost me $234 delivered. It is every bit as good as the HS Precision, if not better, and is more than $100 less. A2 stocks are the same price, but there is a 2-3 week wait as they don't have them in stock now. Take the money you save and buy ammo. I think the sale they have going on runs through Dec. 31. I can tell you I am very pleased with my stock. Dropped right in no problem.
