Traditions St. Louis Hawken Rifle Kit
Am thinking of getting into black powder shooting. Would like to here opinions on the St. Louis Hawken rifle kit (50 Cal) from Traditions

Go for it !!!
This project could give you many hours of enjoyment and eventually, satisfaction. The kit are fair to work with and one big problem is how to finish the white barrel. The more time you take to do this project, the better the results. Also would suggest getting it to a point of being fully assembled and operational then go back for the final fit and finish. I've gotten to a point where I can pick out most kit assembled guns and the biggest clue, is that the job was rushed. I know a custom gun maker that started out from scratch and took him three years to complete his gun but it as a real beauty. ...
