I left mine pretty much plain vanilla but for a K-4 on top. Primary use is for coyotes, ahead of social work...

Use what works for you. I usually set my ARs up with the following:

1.) Saddle Style/Crane Stock
2.) Magpul MIAD
3.) Good Sling (I prefer 2 pt. adjustable)
4.) Good Optic (Red Dot sight of some sort preferred, zoom power is a plus)
5.) Vertical Foregrip
6.) White Light
7.) Free Float Rail

The Sling, light, then optics are priority. Everything else is secondary. Don't forget ample magazines, ammunition, and perhaps a good training class to familiarize yourself.

as far as optics go, i'd go with an aimpoint or eotech.

The iron sights

If you are going to keep the front iron sights along with your AR, this could help:

Every bit helps with those tools, I personally like the red dot a lot, but sometimes the battery is out when you least expect it.
