It's catching!

My wife has now also caught the bug. This will put a serious dent in my monthly gun purchase plans. Apparently this month is for her Kahr CW380. Also have to budget for CHL class, fingerprinting, holsters. Double trouble.

Anyway, she loved the Kahr P380 she held at Gander Mountain, but at nearly $800 there, I suggested we try out the older CW380 closer to $300. We are off in a few to give that one a feel. Thankfully my Thunder 380 was too large for her carry plans, and I didn't lose a gun.

Wish us luck.

I like to look at guns at the box stores and then price shop for them online here

This website finds the cheapest guns on the web. It's kind of like gunbot only it's for firearms.

BTW, your Kahr P380 is on gunwatcher for $512 up to $589.

Gunwatcher

Yeah, I found that one last night and still want the CW380. I stay under $500 for now, since it is the monthly budget and the bug is fulfilled at that rate. Leaves me enough $$ to shoot twice a month.

I actually beat the best CW380 list price locally. Headed out in a few minutes to go look. With taxes and fees, I am now $5 over, but that is pre-negotiation. It's her call on this deal. We may have to wait if it has to be P380. I would not want MadMo to not see us at his monthly gathering.

Good deal. Hope you can find something she's happy with!

Nope, not Kahr

The trigger on the Kahr CW series is way too soft for her comfort. She has a heavy DA/SA preference. I sold her on striker safety due to heavy DA trigger. She wants a heavy trigger for DA.

Trying to convince her to try PT738, but it looks like that trigger isn't much heavier.

The SW380 trigger and look is right up her alley, but was difficult for her to rack and work the slide release. This is the size we are looking for.

Off the list:
Any Kahr - trigger too light
Ruger LCP - hated it

considering:
SW380
Witness Pavona - bigger, but she really likes the look, need to find to touch one more time - it was too far back and we weren't looking for her then
Taurus PT738 - She doesn't like the look

Need to find for eval:
Colt Mustang Pocketlite 380

Any other suggestions for 'tiny' at least 380? Kahr and Ruger lines are entirely out, and pointing those out now, would only irritate me.

S&W Bodyguard 380 has a manual safety and is hammer fired with a stiffer trigger. Might take a look.

This is the SW380 in the 'considering' list , guess I got the model wrong. It was very hard for her to rack....

Thanks, I guess now the considering list is BodyGuard 380 and I can move SW380 to the 'find it' list. They are different models.... this is what I get for hurrying.

Also note

She doesn't like Sig grips at all, don't feel right. P238 would have been so easy.

The CW380 is nice, I picked mine up yesterday. I bought it off GunBroker for $320, and the CW380 is newer than the P380 btw, it's only been out for maybe a year or less. I think it has a good trigger, not incredibly soft but not 10-12lb either. I would think a heavy DA trigger pull would only cause a loss in accuracy, but then again, everyone's different.

DB380SL

DB380SL

My wife loves the look of this one. And the trigger pull on it is identical to the SA trigger on my 45.

This is a way simple design and pretty darned snazzy. No extra controls, easy to rack.

The only weird thing - it doesn't lock back on an empty mag, or ever. It doesn't lock back at all in fact.

This is now on the top of the list, as the trigger pull is over 2lbs heavier than the CW380 she hated.
