Need some advise developing a load for my Suppressed Rifle.
My paper work is in and my gun is due back in a few days from being threaded and having a faster twist barrel attached. but I am still looking at September (so I am told) before I will receive my suppressor because of the slow process.
So the question I have is this. I plan to develop some subsonic ammo for my gun, how much speed can i expect to add or loose from my bullet once I have the suppressor on the gun? I am shooting for a 500 grain 458 caliber bullet moving 1000-1050 FPS. How much speed will a suppressor add or take away from the bullet? (best guess of course)

Shot placement is everything! I would rather take a round of 50BMG to the foot than a 22short to the base of the skull. all 26 of my guns are 45/70 govt, 357 mag, 22 or 12 ga... I believe in keeping it simple. Wish my wife did as well... |

The suppressor is not going to have any noticeable impact on your velocity.
