$1400 for new rifle...help build

Looking for either 308 or 223 heavy barrel preferably 20in. I have $1400 to drop on entire setup including stock upgrade (if needed) and scope. What do you think?

Note: I do already have savage 10fp 308 in collection with supersniper scope, choate ultimate varmint stock. Awesome shooter.

What's the intended purpose of the rifle? Targets, hunting (if so, max distance), plinking, etc.

Are you looking to get a receiver and then add a barrel, stock, etc? Or, are you looking to buy a complete rifle off the shelf that has most of what you want and then swap out the stock parts for with upgrades?

Repeater buy a savage /stevens 200 in the cartidge you want or atleast the base size and start with that. 300 dollars
Add a Rifle Basix trigger for 85 bucks

Buy a mcgowen barrel in the configueration you want and a mcmillian stock
