Since I didn't buy anything at Wannenmacher's,,,

Since I didn't buy anything at Wannenmacher's,,,
And since it's my birthday this Sunday,,,
I ordered a new-to-me pistol.

A Beretta 81 with 3-mags from Classic Firearms.

The pistol was only $209.99,,,
Adding two extra mags for $69.98,,,
Then shipping, insurance, and sales tax brought it to $327.59.

The Evil Pawn Shop charges $20.00 for his transfer fee,,,
So basically $350.00 for the gun and three mags.

I need this gun like I need another hole in my head,,,
But I didn't buy anything at Wannenmacher's,,,
And it's my birthday so what the heck,,,
The heart wants what it wants.

Besides, I just love those dang Cheetah pistols,,,
In my not-so-humble opinion they are the sexiest guns ever made.

I did wait until I saw several reviews from people who bought them from Classic Firearms,,,
One from this forum and several from other forums,,,
They were all very positive so I bit the bullet.

Now I'll just cross my fingers and hope they send me a nice one.

The funny thing is that when this batch hit the market a month ago,,,
A member here asked who was tempted by the little beauty,,,
I replied that I was tempted but would resist the urge.

I have absolutely no willpower.

I have a feeling that very shortly here you are going to owe me $350 because I did not even realize I wanted one of these until your post

Inherent to New Gun Day (NGD) are photos. Keep us in mind.

And about having no will power? Like somebody in a movie said, this life we're living isn't a dress rehearsal---it's the real thing.

I'll say one thing for Classic Firearms,,,

I'll say one thing for Classic Firearms,,,
They were quick in processing my order.

I placed the order on-line on the 12th at 10:17 AM,,,
The pistol was delivered to the Evil Pawn Shop on the 14th just before noon.

If any of you are tempted by this gun,,,
Know one thing about it.

For the $209.00 price you get a Beretta 81,,,
For $229 you can get a Beretta 81BB.

I didn't notice the BB when I made the order,,,
I think I would have spent the extra $20.00 if I had.

There's nothing wrong about the base model,,,
But I already own a very nice 85BB,,,
Matching would have been nice.

Here are the first pics of my new baby.

As you can see the gun isn't banged up at all,,,
There are no dings or scratched in the metal.

The slide does show holster wear on all of the high points,,,
But they aren't objectionable at all,,,
They just show normal wear.

I can fix that with some cold blue if I decide to,,,
But for now I'll leave her alone.

The one surprise was the roll mark,,,
While it is on the bottom of the trigger guard,,,
It's deeply stamped and painted with some white filler.

Again, it's not all that bad,,,
I'll just use some black enamel if it starts to bother me.
It would have been nice if Classic would have disclosed it though.

After an hour of fondling it I am very pleased with the purchase,,,
$209.00 base price for a Beretta pistol is a real deal.

I picked up some ball ammo for the gun,,,
Hopefully I will be able to range test her tomorrow.

I know how a gun looks shouldn't matter, but to me they do. This is one of those guns that just has an elegant look, congrats.

I test fired the gun on Saturday,,,
I didn't have much time so it was only 50 rounds.

I wanted to test the three mags as well as the gun,,,
So I loaded 12 rounds into all three mags,,,
Then did three mag dumps into the berm.

All 36 rounds went off without a jamb or any other malfunction,,,
The last 14 rounds were slow fire and deliberately aimed.

I am absolutely in love with this Italian shooter,,,
The recoil is so light it stays on target.

I am ever so happy I made this purchase,,,
As soon as I test out some hollow-point ammo,,,
This will be my new gun to carry in my leather briefcase.

I bought one of the 81s from Classic for my wife. She likes the .32 It had a couple of issues, but nothing that a good cleaning and some work on the slide with a couple of different slips could not fix. It has quickly become my favorite firearm to shoot. Low recoil and accurate. Oh, my wife really likes it also. she re-qualified for her concealed carry license with it. Now she doesn't want to shoot her Walther PP in .32. So I get to take it and shoot it more also.
a win all the way around.]
