Remington Nylon 66

HELP I was installing the cover on my 66 and the cartridge guide spring fell off. This is(was) riveted to bottom of cover the rivet is still there,it willstay in place until I turn it over. Do I need to try to peen the rivet? It is under the sight and it is also riveted(other side) If I peened&glued it would it hold? Thanks

James, you could try the peening. I can't think of anything else you could do. I've not seen this happen before. Most of the 66's that come into the shop are just to be reassembled after the owner took them apart. George
