Best IWB holster for bulldog pug .44 special.
Got a charter arms bulldog pug in a trade deal and would like to start carrying this little rascal.
My primary for years has been a HK USP.40 compact but I like this little bulldog and need some recommendations on holsters. I have carried in in my front pocket a couple times with its current holster which is a OWB but its kinda bulky. The rubber pachmeyer grips tend to snag my jeans so I will be looking for a set of wood grips...maybe even make my own....I'm pretty good at woodworking detail. I'd like to carry IWB or my pocket....anyone own one and care to opine? |

I use any one of two or three OWB and IWB holsters designed for my 3" SP101 and they work fine.
I find the Bulldog to be a bit too big for pocket carry, so i can't help you there much. I do sometimes drop it in my pocket, but only to carry it from house to car or the like. Try one or more of the SP101 holsters if you can. I just tried it on for size in a J-frame holster: A bit snug, but workable except for the thumb break which won't close over the Bulldog. But, that's a cool thing about the Bulldog; .44Special in a .38-size package! Best, Will

Totally endorse the 44 Special. Lots more firepower than a 38 but in a 38 pkg.
I see where Taurus is making them again as well. |

I don't think there is a good inside the waistband holster. Everything I have ever tried was uncomfortable. You are always aware that it's there and the handgun is slow to access.
