I just read a description of a new Indiana law "clarified" by the Indiana DNR. Bullets must be .243 diameter or .308 diameter, so a 6mm PPC is legal and .300 Magnums (e.g., Winchester, Weatherby, and Remington Ultra) are legal. The .25-06 and .270, as well as ALL BULLETS THAT ARE NOT .243 or .308 diameter, are prohibited. I don't know if the DNR or the state legislature is responsible for this nonsense, and I have no idea of the purpose of this regulation.

Some laws are just stupid and this sounds like one of the stupider ones.

Where are you guys finding this information. I don't see it. The dnr website says.
http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/2362.htm

The changes to the rifle proposal and statewide sunfish bag limit were not approved by the Natural Resources Commission.

Besides that I found this.

Rifles with cartridges that fire a bullet of .357-inch diameter or larger, have a minimum case length of 1.16 inches, and have a maximum case length of 1.8 inches are legal to use only during the deer firearms and special antlerless seasons. Some cartridges legal for deer hunting include the .357 Magnum, .38-.40 Winchester, .41 Magnum, .41 Special, .44 Magnum, .44 Special, .44-.40 Winchester, .45 Colt, .454 Casull, .458 SOCOM, .475 Linebaugh, .480 Ruger, .50 Action Express, .500 S&W, .460 Smith & Wesson, .450 Bushmaster, and .50 Beowulf. Full metal jacketed bullets are illegal.

Handguns, other than muzzleloading, must have a barrel at least 4 inches long and must fire a bullet of .243-inch diameter or larger. The handgun cartridge case, without the bullet, must be at least 1.16 inches long. Full metal-jacketed bullets are not permitted. The handgun must not be a rifle that has a barrel less than 18 inches or be designed or redesigned to be fired from the shoulder.

Oh I found it. It's only for private land.
https://iga.in.gov/legislative/2016/...ument-afa20d5e

I was hoping it was for public because the stuff that happens in Indiana and Ohio should impact the shotgun zone in southern Michigan.
