P-01 is great for both range and CCW use. The 75 SP-01 makes a great range gun and for competition especially. I'd prefer a 75B for full-sized carry over the SP-01, were I considering it for carry.

This is a tough one. The M&P is a better concealed carry piece than either CZ, but the SP-01, IF it is the cocked and locked one rather than the decocking model, would be hard to pass up.

Since most SP-01s on the market are the decock model, I voted for the M&P.

What use? Carry, range, HD or all three?

If your going to carry it get the P-01 or PCR as these will cover all three. If just for range, the SP-01 is very nice, but its pretty big for CCW.

I voted P-01.

Mostly Range, and HD, as I don't have a CCW permit.

Why isn't Glock on the list?

If you're not going to carry, then I would say go with a G19 or G17. I'm sorry to all you GLOCK haters that are reading this.

I actually do have a Glock in my collection. It's the G17.

In relevance to the first three: I was wondering what the M&P was doing on the list? It's obvious the OP wants a hammer (Not a brick)

You could also check out the CZ P-07 if you wanted a polymer CZ. It has the external hammer and you can switch the safety controls from the left side to the right side. It feels very nice in the hand.

Another note about the P07 - you can choose to have a decocker or manual safety. The P07 comes out of the box with a decocker and the actual manual safety is shipped with the P07. With minimal effort, you can swap out the decocker for the safety if you prefer that - or you can just leave that decocker on there if you prefer that instead. Very nice feature out-of-the box IMO.

For what use/purpose?

I have several hammers...each used for different tasks.

Out of the choices given...

M&P for certain.

My write-in choice is the Xd or XdM.

I have a XDm in 40SW caliber, and I did toy with the idea of adding one in 9mm also, but would like to add a different manufacturer to diversify my collection.

I didn't vote because I don't have any real preference between the guns listed. I do find it interesting that all of these threads people like to go with option "E. Whatever Gun They Like" without considering that the person might already have it or just not want it.

Not voting. But I'll pass on my advice to you anyway. Buy the gun that fits your hands best. Buy the one that you like best. Never look at the price tag when making your decision. This tool may someday same your life. What's that worth? This tool is also not a fashion statement that input from others as to which they like best becomes necessary. Take the time to make a wise decision. Then make the purchase. From your list, I believe that all of the choices would serve well.

As the posters above me mentioned, your choices are limited so I didn't vote.

IMO, you should check out a BHP, HK P30, Glock 17 and Beretta 92 FS.

Anyway good luck to you, hope you find something you like.

Let us know what you decide.

P-01 was my choice in your vote. It's extremely comfortable which makes it a great range weapon and small enough for CC. I don't have my CCW...yet...but when I got my Cougar 9mm I didn't anticipate it to be CC at all, just range. Well, I'll be getting my CCW soon and I'm glad I chose a compact 9mm since it will double as a great range gun and a concealed carry pistol. I wish the gun store had a P-01 before I got my Cougar but hey, I'm happy with what I got!

I love my PO-1!!!!

Carries well in a nice Fist-Inc holster, acurate easy to hide, compact and reliable as all get out. I have had mine since 2006 and 10K rounds later its still ticking perfectly.

It is my primary carry pistol for hot weather and cold weather alike.

im personally biased to choose the m&p as i own the m&p.45. excellent firearm i feel, very accurate out of the box and easy to use. and the .45 isn't really that big if you're not dead set on a 9mm, if so, the m&p9c is most impressive.

I have the P-01 and an M&P 40 full size and i would not want to give up either. If i was starting all over again and could only purchase one, i'd go with the M&P 40C or the full size and get the 9mm conversion barrel.

The one thing i really like about the MP that the CZ doesn't have are the straps to change the grip size. Never owned a Sig, always thought they were too over priced.
