Browning A5 safety detent spring.

Hi everyone , I'm new here so forgive me while I learn how to use this site. I have an older Browning a5 12 gauge that was my grandpa's , the trigger spring is broken (the safety part of it) it's a rear trigger gaurd safety that is not pin retained , I think they are called intermediate style . I haven't been able to find a replacement . has anyone tried to make one of the newer pin retained ones work ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !
